Alligator Twist (Jathara Parivartasana)

With one leg bent, ten to twenty second on each side.

Start by lying on your back, with your arms in a T position and your palms facing either up, as shown in the photo, or down as Sandra suggested for Maggie.

Inhale and place your right foot on your left knee.

On an exhalation, turn your hips to the left, arching your upper back a little bit as you turn, and allow your right knee to drop.

Don’t worry about bringing your knee to the ground.

When you are settled in the pose, if it is comfortable, turn your head to the right.

Repeat on the other side.

As in the seated twist above, focus your awareness on how much your spine is turning.
